The project site presented formidable obstacles from day one. Perched atop an 85-foot cliff overlooking Lake Granbury, the property's dramatic elevation created significant logistical hurdles for both materials delivery and crew access.

The shoreline below was studded with massive boulders precisely where foundation pilings needed to be placed, requiring specialized equipment and innovative engineering solutions. This project showcased why our shoreline stabilization expertise is essential for challenging waterfront properties.

Throughout construction, we contended with multiple seasons of unpredictable Texas weather, including summer storms and winter freezes that temporarily halted progress.

The high-traffic area of the lake meant carefully coordinating work around peak boating times to ensure safety for both our crew and lake users.

Architectural Innovation

The completed structure features our now-signature split, tilted roof system that mirrors the angular design elements of the client's contemporary home. This innovative roofing approach not only serves as a striking visual element but also provides optimized shade coverage throughout the day as the sun's position changes.

Inside, we installed top-of-the-line mechanical lifts engineered for reliability and ease of use. The ceiling showcases hand-selected pine boards with a custom stain treatment that enhances the natural grain patterns while providing protection from the elements.

Our custom dock design approach allowed us to integrate recessed lighting systems thoughtfully designed to provide both functional illumination and ambient evening atmosphere without light pollution.

Access Solution

To address the extreme elevation challenge, we coordinated closely with specialists to design and install an 85-foot tram system. This sophisticated transport solution required precise engineering to ensure perfect alignment with the dock landing area, creating seamless access between the cliff-top property and the waterfront structure below.

The technical challenges conquered and innovations developed during this project inspired us to create our premium "Nemesis" dock model, which has since become one of our most requested designs for clients with complex sites and distinctive architectural preferences.
